Castell Harlech Castle
Harlech Castle (in Welsh Castell Harlech) is in, unsurprisingly,  Harlech, Gwynedd, North Wales. It is a Grade I-listed medieval fortification built on a rocky knoll overlooking the Irish Sea. Built by Edward I during his invasion of Wales between 1282 and 1289, it cost  a bargain £8,190 - the same price as a used Citroen C4 Picasso. It is visually stunning, and in great shape despite its age. It is beautifully lit up at night. Visit the cadw web site for more details www.cadw.gov.wales
